Wow….things have been pretty busy here at Sarasota’s David Turner Music the last couple of months! It’s taken a little time to get back to blogging about my Sarasota DJ service and live music service, but I promise it will be worth the wait. The last couple of months in 2018 saw me performing on sax and disc jockeying at a number of terrific Florida parties. And now, with 2019 already going “full speed ahead,” I’m very excited about some upcoming weddings and special events, and have some great news regarding the future of my DJ service. Here is a little taste of what’s been going on lately…
November and December 2018 saw me playing sax at several incredible venues throughout Florida. Here’s a cool shot, performing with South Florida’s Private Stock Band at a Winterfest Black Tie Ball at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, FL.
Also on the schedule was a retirement party at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center with Private Stock, a cruise line party at Gulf Stream Park, and many more great events in South Florida and Southwest Florida.
Holiday parties were certainly in full swing, and I was lucky to DJ for several great groups, including the Murdock Ambulatory Surgical Center, Village on the Isle in Venice, and many more. I played a nice holiday party at the historic train depot in Venice, and New Years Eve saw me play sax and DJ for an intimate party in Clearwater at the Clipper Cove Yacht Club. The next day, I followed that up with a nice “New Year’s Day Jazz Brunch” in Venice.
Throw some weddings into the mix, including DJ-ing a fun, outdoor, country style wedding in Palmetto, and it was a pretty good end to the year. I’ll be sharing a little bit more in future blogs about some recent weddings that I’ve disc jockeyed, but I wanted to briefly touch upon some exciting news here at David Turner Music. It is…
TIDAL!!! Along with the usual adding and upgrading equipment process, I’m excited to announce that my DJ service will be taking advantage of the TIDAL music streaming service in the very near future. It will make it possible for me to have millions of tracks available at weddings and events. The sonic quality of TIDAL is unmatched by other streaming services, as it offers hi-fi audio that equals and even exceeds CD quality. This will make taking requests much easier, and give my clients access to a really wonderful and diverse music collection that will sound incredible. TIDAL fully integrates with my professional DJ software (Serato DJ Pro), and will be a wonderful addition to my prepared tracks and sets, since I”ll be able to mix new material and requests into sets on the fly! I’ve always been a little picky about the quality of my music, painstakingly ripping “old-school” CDs at high quality, and not taking shortcuts. Now, I’m taking it to the next level!
