It was a busy year for weddings, corporate events, and private parties at DTM. 2019 saw us taking part in a number of really cool events. So much so, in fact, that we didn’t really get much of a chance to keep up with blogging and social media. But hey…that’s what New Year’s resolutions are all about, right? It’s 2020…we will blog more…we will blog more…we will post more on social…post more on social…LOL. Anyway, we’re incorporating a new Spotlight Events Series within the blog to showcase a few recently completed events at a time, so you can see what we’ve been up to. Eventually, we will catch up to 2020(fingers crossed). Here’s the first in the series…
Sarasota Beach Weddings sans Sand
As a DJ and musician, you love it when your beach weddings don’t involve trekking across the deep sand with sensitive equipment and instruments. After all, the conditions of these types of Florida weddings can be pretty unforgiving. Luckily, the majority of our 2019 “beach weddings” saw us mostly protected from the elements. Just a few of the terrific local wedding spots we visited on our “salt life tour” included…
Sax and DJ at Ophelia’s on the Bay
This little spot on Siesta is a staple of fine dining and “Old Florida” charm in the SRQ! It’s a terrific place for intimate Sarasota weddings, close to warm gulf waters and great sunset views. This wedding featured me DJ-ing and playing some live saxophone, utilizing a compact PA system perfectly suited to smaller wedding spaces and venues like restaurants, clubs, etc.
Vacation Rental Wedding on Siesta Key
What’s cooler than renting out multiple Siesta properties for an enjoyable beach wedding? Not much, really. With clear blue skies and lightly swaying palms, this Siesta Key wedding spot was a great place to provide music for the big day! While the weather was a little hot, the buildings and palms provided enough shade to give some relief. This wedding featured the David Turner Music LiveMusicDJ service, with both saxophone and flute. Music ranged from oldies and jazz to top 40, alternative, and rock.
The Beach House on Anna Maria Island with David Turner Music
Had the opportunity to play a little saxophone, as well as DJ at this Anna Maria eatery and wedding hot spot. With wedding guests coming from across the country to enjoy the scenery, the rain was minimal, and helped to keep the temperatures in check. It’s terrific that the Sarasota and Manatee area offers multiple spots for weddings inspired by the “salt life.” Siesta Key, Lido Key, Downtown/Marina, Powel Crosley, The Ringling, Longboat Key, Anna Maria Island. What a list!
